Changelog
Notable changes to The Digital Human API, newest first.
2026-08-28 - Choose the conversation language
- Identities take an optional
languageon create -auto,en,es,pl, oruk- and return it from create, get, and list. New identities default toauto; identities that existed before this release readen, which is how they already behaved. - Realtime sessions accept a
languagethat overrides the identity for that session only. Omit it to use the identity's stored language. - Pinned languages are strict: the agent greets and answers only in the selected language.
autogreets in English, then follows the visitor. - A multilingual voice is required for every mode except
en,autoincluded. Starting a session on an identity with no ElevenLabs voice returns422instead of speaking through an English-only voice.
2026-08-19 - Identities carry their own renderer
- Identity onboarding now runs on the renderer its pipeline names. Pass
pipeline_idon create to choose it; the choice holds for the life of the identity. - Realtime sessions resolve the renderer, the persona image and the cloned voice from the identity. No request field selects them, and none is needed.
- Async message rendering is rejected for identities whose renderer cannot produce one, instead of failing later in the render.
2026-08-10 — Pricing update
- Identity onboarding reduced from 500 → 200 credits ($0.50 → $0.20) per identity.
- Realtime session updated from 52 → 150 credits/min ($0.052 → $0.15). Flat per-minute rate whether the session is voice-only or voice+video.
